Nostalgia

Oh! Gentle rain of England
Fall upon me now
Wash away my teardrops
Cleanse my weary brow

Summer's nearly over
Leaves begin to turn
My love has wandered far away
Never to return

The youthful love that once I had
It died so long ago
'Tis winter now inside my breast
A winter cold with snow

For spring it did not last too long
My youth has sped so fast
When love had gone, the years dragged on
How slowly seasons passed

But still it is the thought of you
That helps me bear the pain
I feel in my heart we're not apart
And youth returns again
