Max The Cat

Max my dear, do you still stroll
Every day towards your goal?
Your daily visits to your friends
Around the block the days you spend.

Your friendly face peeps through the door
Will someone see you as before
Sometimes they cannot hear your pleas
When music plays and no one sees.

So off you go to other friends
Your little circle never ends.
When you gain entry through some door
Upstairs, downstairs you explore.

Making sure they are all at home
You say hello then quietly roam.
Is the old one in the rocking chair?
And the young one who would keep you there.

I was a guest on holiday
Missing my cats so far away
Surely you knew as you came to visit
I really believe there is something in it.

Some force that sent you to comfort me
As my own two cats I could not see.
You filled that need in me to be
Delighted by feline company
