Christmas Eve

The silver bells ring out to-day
Santa will soon be here on his sleigh
The christmas tree is sparkling bright
As Christians await the holy night

Friends sending greetings with lots of love
With holly and mistletoe hanging above
Snow falling gently as homeward we go
Loaded with presents and hearts all aglow

Carol singers ready on village green
As through the darkness their lanterns are seen
All awaiting the holy birth
With anticipation and lots of mirth

Soon it will be Christ’s own day
We remember the babe asleep in the hay
On our best behaviour which we hope will last
We celebrate this holy event of the past
