If I only had a garden
How perfect life would be
I would plant and prune
Reap and sow, listen to the bee
The sun would shine, the birds would sing
I would be so content
My heart would be at peace once more
Instead of this torment
The trees would blossom every spring
The autumn leaves would fall
Life then would have some purpose
Inside my garden wall
I have had such gardens in the past
Orchards, pond with fish
But now I see that life has changed
So all I do is wish
